  • The Small Business Administration (SBA) has publications available for those looking into purchase of a franchise. There is an SBA registry of franchises you can browse also. You may also call with small business related questions 1-800-U-ASK-SBA.  A general site for government links to information on franchising is posted also.  Franchisees listed by the SBA have a fast-track loan application process in some cases.
     

  • The Federal Trade Commission publishes guides, which includes franchises.  You may contact them at 1-877-FTC-HELP.
     

  • The business sections of major libraries have guides on franchises. Listings may include items such as financing, training, and royalties.

BOOKS AND MAGAZINES:

  • Entrepreneur Magazine – Every year Entrepreneur has a "Annual Franchise 500" issue.
     

  • The Franchise Opportunity Guide by the International Franchise Association is published yearly and can be ordered at 800.543.1038.
